One model connects only to a Wi-Fi connection, whereas the other model comes with built in 3G service. If you choose the model with the 3G, you will need to purchase a plan through AT&T or Verizon to be able to use it. Additionally, like many other Apple devices, the iPad comes in both white and black. You can choose from the first generation iPad or the newer iPad 2.
